Scientists and teachers, business leaders and policy makers, and officers for the 美国陆军. USM and its Army ROTC program prepare 学生 to be innovators and leaders 21世纪. We produce lieutenants for the active Army, the National Guard, 和美国陆军预备队. Each component has 16 branches that cater to multiple interests, including infantry, military intelligence, aviation, engineering, armor and medical 服务队. Warriors wanted, each with a breadth of perspective who:

- Committed to the Army for the duration and open-minded about further service

Our courses develop individual leadership and group problem-solving skills, plus you get to experience the out-of-classroom labs that get you adventuring outdoors including: Rappelling, rifle marksmanship, obstacle courses, and land navigation. 简约 学生 can also participate in adventure training in airborne, air assault and mountain 战争训练学校.

The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school 学生 planning on attending 四年制大学课程. You can also recieve a 3-year Advanced Designee scholarship, which means that your scholarship money wouldn't kick in until your sophomore year.
Did you know that Federal Tuition Assistance helps cover 15-18 undergraduate or graduate credit hours per academic year based on your branch of service? 认可助教课程 hours will be paid with your Federal Tuition Assistance and the TA缺口资助 Program 从超声电机!

The Art of Storytelling: Opening Reception Featuring Works by Adam Trest at University Baptist Church
An artist with a passion for all things Southern, Adam Trest is the FestivalSouth featured artist. His work evokes the heart of Southern folklore and traditions. A New York Times bestselling illustrator, Trest’s work can be found in the illustrations of children’s books, hanging in the homes of his collectors worldwide, and in multiple home decor lines available nationwide. Regardless of the application, Trest’s work focuses on telling the story of life in the South.

Mahler in the Morning at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Enjoy complimentary Viennese-style breakfast pastries and coffee as Dr. 约瑟夫E. 琼斯, professor of musicology from the Southern Miss School of Music, discusses the life and selected works of Gustav Mahler and his contributions to the history of symphonic music. This engaging talk will help you further understand and appreciate the significance and meaning of Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), the incredible musical work that will be performed by the FestivalChamber Players and vocal soloists under the direction of Dr. 杰伊·迪恩，7:30.m. 那天晚上.

The Mahler Experience: Song of the Earth Featuring the FestivalSouth Chamber Players at The Thomas V. Fraschillo Stage at the Mannoni Performing 艺术 Center Auditorium
The music of Gustav Mahler embodies a level of profundity that has seldom been reached and arguably never surpassed. Considered by many to be the premier composer in the history of symphonic music, Mahler composed The Song of the Earth as an orchestral song cycle, 或“歌曲交响曲”.这是他最后的作品之一. 阿诺德勋伯格, another giant among classical music composers and a friend of Mahler’s, created a reduced version of this masterpiece, which will be performed at this festival.
